Today, the 15th December 2023, we celebrate one whole year since we became an employee owned company under an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT). What a brilliant year it has been.
Blue Sky did this to provide a sustainable ownership structure for the long-term and to embed, even further, a collaborative ethos that elevates the company to even higher levels.
It has been a momentous year in so many ways and we would love to take this opportunity to share with you how we have celebrated this week.
A Week of Fun!
Theresa Osborne and I are the EOT champions for 23/24 and we have had the pleasure of planning and hosting the week, celebrating our achievements this year. There have been cakes and balloons, lunch for all the team, charity giving and treats for everyone to enjoy.
The highlight however was a surprise video presented to Gary, to celebrate just how much the business means to each and every one of us. We even added the cheesy rap Gary wrote last year that he ‘performed’ at our 2022 Christmas party! You’ll be pleased to know this isn’t Gary singing on the video – it’s his friend, Peter Sidaway.

What are the benefits of an EOT to our clients?
We have been told on many occasions – by those across the financial sector – that we are quite different to most financial planning practices. With the change to an EOT, from a client’s point of view, it has been business as usual however we have embraced the new chapter as a catalyst for further dynamic change and innovation.
