The Blue Sky Story

A message from Gary Neild:

Thank you for visiting the Blue Sky Financial Planning website. I’m the founder and main shareholder of the company, which was established in 2002.

My roots aren’t in the financial sector, they are in education. I was a secondary school teacher for 5 years, working my way from north west England to the south coast, many years ago.

I saw significant similarities between teaching and financial planning. It’s all about making a difference in my eyes. Informing and empowering others to be the best they can be; fulfil their potential.

I left teaching because I wanted to make more of an impact. I realised I could more easily do so as an independent financial planner and so became a 40% shareholder in a sizeable financial advisory business. It was a good company, with good people but very traditional in it’s approach. I quickly came to see that what I wanted to achieve was quite different and so I founded Blue Sky Financial Planning.

Be informed. Be empowered. Be confident.

We are all a product of our experiences so it’s vital we look beyond our immediate horizons and understand what’s possible. The internet has helped us explore more. It has helped us glean information, but it can also be dangerous because it can fuel our pre-conceived ideas.

At Blue Sky, we like to see ourselves as more than just financial advisers. We are Financial Planners. We work with our clients closely. I believe a testimonial from one particular client sums it up…
