Blue Sky Financial Planning was proud to attend the MYTIME Young Carers Community Hero Awards on Wednesday 15 July, celebrating the individuals, organisations and businesses helping to transform the lives of young carers across Dorset.
Representing Blue Sky were members of our CSR Team, Lucy Tuttle and Gemma Thornton, who joined more than 100 guests at Wimborne Town Football Club for an evening dedicated to recognising the people who make a difference, often quietly and behind the scenes.

The event is MYTIME’s way of saying thank you to the incredible community of volunteers, supporters, schools, businesses and partners whose commitment enables young carers and their families to receive the support they deserve. There was even recognition for some young carers who provide peer support and have become changemakers themselves.
Proud to be recognised
We were honoured to be nominated for Corporate Partner of the Year, recognising the fundraising, volunteering and support Blue Sky has provided throughout the past year. While the award went elsewhere, being shortlisted alongside two other outstanding organisations is something the whole team is incredibly proud of, and a reminder of what can be achieved when businesses choose to play an active role in their communities.
Lucy Tuttle said “Being recognised by MYTIME means a great deal to everyone at Blue Sky. The award was wonderful to be nominated for, but the real privilege is being part of a community that’s helping young carers feel seen, supported and valued. We’re proud to play our small part and look forward to continuing our partnership with MYTIME.”
Celebrating remarkable people
Throughout the evening, awards were presented to individuals and organisations whose kindness, dedication and generosity have made a genuine impact on the lives of young carers.
Listening to the stories behind the nominations was both inspiring and humbling, highlighting the resilience of young carers themselves and the extraordinary network of people who work tirelessly to support them.
The evening was attended by the Mayor of Poole and also gave an opportunity for everyone to come together over refreshments and celebrate the collective difference being made across the region.
Looking to the future
The awards evening also marked the launch of MYTIME’s new Champion Young Carers initiative, a national campaign calling for every school to have a dedicated Young Carer Champion, ensuring young carers are recognised, understood and supported wherever they live.
It was a fitting reminder that while there is much to celebrate, there is still important work ahead.
Thank you, MYTIME
Supporting MYTIME Young Carers is about far more than fundraising. It’s about standing alongside an organisation that changes lives every single day.
Congratulations to all of this year’s winners and nominees, and thank you to everyone at MYTIME for another inspiring evening. We look forward to continuing our partnership and supporting the vital work you do for young carers and their families.
