Embedding purpose into everything we do
At Blue Sky Financial Planning, we’ve always believed that the role of a business extends beyond its day-to-day operations.
Yes, we are here to support our clients in living the lives they want, with confidence. But equally, we recognise the responsibility we hold to contribute positively to the wider community around us.
As part of our continued development as an employee-owned business, we are proud to introduce our dedicated Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team, a group of five individuals who will lead and shape our efforts in this important area.

What does a CSR team do?
A CSR team exists to ensure that a business’s values are not just spoken about, but actively lived. At Blue Sky, this means creating a clear focus for how we:
- Support charitable causes
- Engage with our local community
- Give our time, not just our money
- Encourage participation from across the whole team
Rather than ad hoc initiatives, the CSR team brings structure, consistency and intention – ensuring that what we do is meaningful, relevant and aligned with who we are as a business.
Why this matters in an employee-owned business
Since becoming employee-owned, our perspective has naturally broadened.
Decisions are no longer just about commercial outcomes. They are about long-term impact for our clients, our people and the communities we are part of. A CSR team is a natural extension of this way of thinking.
It gives our team a collective voice in how we show up beyond the office, and ensures that our efforts reflect the values we share: care, responsibility and a commitment to doing things properly.
“Becoming employee-owned has strengthened our sense of responsibility – not just to our clients, but to the wider community around us. The CSR team gives us a clear and thoughtful way to turn that responsibility into action, ensuring that what we do as a business has a positive and lasting impact.”

Supporting MyTime Young Carers
This year, our CSR efforts will focus on supporting MyTime Young Carers, a charity that provides essential support to young people who take on caring responsibilities within their families.
As we shared in our recent article, the work MyTime does is both inspiring and incredibly important. They help young carers find balance, build confidence and experience the opportunities many of us take for granted.
Our CSR team will lead our fundraising, volunteering and awareness efforts throughout the year, ensuring that our support is not only consistent, but genuinely impactful.
Looking ahead
The creation of our CSR team marks an important step in the continued evolution of Blue Sky. It reflects a business that is not only focused on helping clients navigate their financial futures, but also committed to making a positive difference in the present.
We look forward to sharing updates as the team brings new initiatives to life and continues to strengthen our connection with the community.
