That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our newest community partnership: a year-long collaboration with MYTIME Young Carers – a local charity dedicated to supporting the young people who care for loved ones at home, often without recognition or support.
This marks a significant step forward in our company’s community work. While we’ve proudly supported many local causes over the years, this is our first formal, long-term partnership. We’re excited to commit deeper time, energy and resources to a cause that truly aligns with our values.
Why MYTIME?
MYTIME Young Carers is doing extraordinary work across Dorset, raising awareness of the challenges young carers face and providing support, connection and opportunity to those who often go unseen.
From bespoke educational support to weekend retreats and skills workshops, their programmes are designed to help every young carer (regardless of age or circumstance) access the same opportunities as their peers. Their work doesn’t just change lives… it helps shape futures.
We’re proud to support their mission to “level the playing field” and ensure no young person faces the responsibility of caring for a loved one alone.
Our Commitment
Through this partnership, we’ve pledged to raise a minimum of £3,000 over the next 12 months, with a stretch target of £5,000. But this isn’t just about fundraising. It’s about engagement, education, and rolling up our sleeves.
Our team will be:
- Volunteering for MYTIME events and morale-boosting activities
- Sharing their stories and mission across our social media
- Competing in fun fundraising challenges throughout the year
- Attending the MYTIME Ball and Corporate Championships
- Learning how to make our own workplace more young carer-friendly
We’re also excited to welcome the charity’s team into our offices to deliver training and inspire us further. Our whole team is behind this and we can’t wait to get stuck in.
Meet Our New Corporate Social Responsibility Champions
To help us make the most of this partnership (and future ones), we’re pleased to announce the formation of our new CSR Team, a group of passionate people driving our community and environmental commitments.
Together, they’ll lead our fundraising efforts, strengthen internal engagement, and act as champions for our Employee Ownership (EO) values – nearly three years into our EO journey, it’s a natural evolution.
Community, after all, is at the heart of Blue Sky. Becoming employee-owned in 2022 wasn’t just a structural change, it was a declaration of intent. It gave our employees more say, more responsibility, and more opportunity to shape the future of the business.
This partnership with MYTIME Young Carers reflects that ethos. It’s not just a nice thing to do. It’s a strategic, values-led decision that brings our team closer, makes our work more meaningful, and gives back to the community we’ve been part of for over 20 years.
