Financial Advice… Financial Planning. Same thing, right? Not for us!
Financial Advice is delivered after having undertaken Comprehensive Financial Planning. In our opinion, it’s really difficult for anyone to provide pertinent Financial Advice unless they truly understand the big picture. There are occasions but for the most part, Financial Planning is where it’s at.
This means we take the time to understand who we are dealing with by modelling various scenarios and understanding a client’s anxieties and aspirations. We help to mentor clients and encourage them to ‘step out’, be brave and ‘live the life they want’.
Central to our proposition at Blue Sky is our Comprehensive Financial Planning programme. Over the last 6 months, on completion of our cash-flow presentations, we asked our new clients what they would say to others by way of extolling the virtues of Financial Planning.
This is what our clients said:
- Planning alleviates anxieties around money and the future. It stops you worrying unnecessarily.
- Planning creates a strong emotional connection between the numbers and what’s possible in the years to come. It allows both partners to be involved and particularly helps the person who has traditionally been less interested and involved.
- Its much easier understanding your options visually via the modelling programme than trying to understand a spreadsheet. All the variables and ‘what if’ scenarios can be covered.
- It is a relief to be able to understand what all our policies mean; to have an understanding of the tangible benefits they offer.
- We should have done this years ago. It’s a great feeling knowing we now have a financial plan instead of drifting aimlessly. It was all too easy to do nothing!
- We used to have a vague plan but now we know why our money is being directed into specific areas and have the confidence to commit to strategies.
- Having a financial plan now means we can spend with confidence. Enjoying our money whilst we have our health, in the knowledge that we won’t run out of money when we are older.
- By agreeing on a strategy we understand the returns required and the risks we can tolerate. We can now measure our progress each year and understand whether we are on track to achieve our aspirations.
- We were fearful about seeking professional advice and were worried what an assessment of our financial position may tell us. It’s much healthier though to be aware of what the future holds. Most people don’t think they have enough money but it is positively surprising what the modelling tells you.
- We couldn’t believe the tax savings! We are much better off financially and now have a co-ordinated and Comprehensive Plan.
