5th May 2011 – Financial Education

Following Justin Urquhart-Stewart’s visit to our offices in the morning (detailed below), Gary had arranged for Justin to visit a local school, Baden-Powell and St. Peter’s, to speak to the pupils there as part of an initiative by the Headteacher, Mr Geoff Pike, to include financial education in the curriculum.

Geoff summarised the visit in the following press release:

“As part of the ongoing development of the “Economic wellbeing” element of the school’s curriculum, the children were privileged to receive a visit from one of the Country’s leading financiers, Justin Urquhart-Stewart of Seven Investment Management. Justin is a regular contributor to Radio and Television.

In a wide ranging talk to 150 Year 7 children, he talked about his early life as a young entrepreneur and explained the various complexities of the current global world of economics and finance. Justin answered many questions ranging from investment opportunities for children to bank bonuses.

The visit was organised by Gary Neild of Blue Sky Financial Services who has been supporting the school in this most important curriculum initiative.

Geoff Pike, the Headteacher of Baden-Powell and St Peter’s, was delighted with the visit. The children were fully engaged and showed a keen awareness and understanding of current economic issues. Our sincere thanks go to Justin Urquhart-Stewart and Gary Neild for their support.”
